NEW POLL!!! IN HONOR OF THE HUNDREDTH POST!

this is the second poll in honor of the hundredth post! it's only coming up in just TWO MORE POSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! theres a new poll! its a few ideas i have to celebrate a new post, so vote on your favorite, or comment on this post with any other ideas!!

ChloƩ Sweater

I saw this sweater worn by Demi Lovato in the recent Teen Vogue issue (July 2010), and I LOVED it! I still do! But I couldn't find anywhere to buy it! I absolutely LOVE the way Demi wore it! It is a Chloe Sweater with argyle patterns and looks awesome with Demi's skirt and shoes. Some might choose to take a more modern approach on the outfit and wear jeans, converses and add those types of twists to it. However, I love the way Demi wore it..

I finally found it online and purchaseable! I'm considering buying itt..well i WAS. But then I saw the price. $995. It's totally in my price range! Anyways, I suppose I'm going to use teen vogue's version for Demi's look instead, since the price of the other one is just too cheap(: But I hope if I actually DO decide to try out this outfit for myself, it looks somewhere near as good as Demi looks in it...but it probably won't.

busyy nightt

went to see the trial of goldilocks, and as my friend called it: a "twisted fairytale." it was very funny, and very cute[: didnt win anything at the raffle, there wasn't much i wantedd..but hey, it was a good way to interact with the story etc. it was all in rhyme as well, which ended up getting really annoying because my mind was always looking for the rhymes! it was clever and creative, but my messed up mind was only interested in the clever rhymes!!!!

also hung out on the bleachers beside the football field and took pictures and stuff, it was funn[: lovee my first-choice girls>

realized how friendship isnt always permanent when its not with the right friends..i guess everyone has to realize it at some pointt=\

The Sorcerer's Apprentice

The Sorcerer's Apprentice was AH-MAZING! It's my cup of tea, so of course I'm going to like it! But the plot was pretty original, and it was funny, creative and I loved it! Starring Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel, it is a thrilling tale that is an everlasting cycle of energy and love.

David (Baruchel) encounters a sorcerer by the name of Balthazar (Cage) one day who tells him that he is going to be important one day. Ten years later, Dave finds himself facing a title of Prime Merlinian with high expectations of defeating Merlin's most dangerous enemy. While Balthazar has some personal reasons for needing to release and destroy Morgana le Fay (Alice Krige), Dave and Balthazar go through a relationship of bonding, training and fighting Morganians together. Dave even, along the way, finds out that love is a whole different kind of magic, one he can share (love interest played by Teresa Palmer).

I feel like the plot was a little scattered, like after seeing it in the movies the first time, it'd take a bit of time to figure out the order in which everything happened. There were conflicts followed by forgiveness and love followed by training. It was very easy to understand and action opened up the movie right away. The ending was very predictable for a PG movie, but at least it was good and stereotypical instead of being creative but horrible and depressing. I feel if they changed some things and made it a PG13 movie, it would have certainl benefitted certain areas of the movie. But it was veryy VERY funny and completely worth seeing if you're into Harry Potter or adventure! I give it a 9/10. I loved it!!

Movie review of Bedtime Stories (2008)

Watched Bedtime Stories recently on http://netflix.com/! It was not what I expected. Like I expected the main character, Skeeter (Adam Sandler), to be a funloving father who told his children bedtime stories and they magically come to life. But hey, that was two years ago, and I guess I forgot what I saw during the commercials etc.

The story really goes like this [CAUTION: CONTAINS SPOILERS]: The main character was a single, rude, and unsocial/uncivilized man who almost seems like an average American teenager. His green (love-the-earth type green) sister leaves her two kids (Jonathan Morgan Heit and Laura Ann Kesling) to be babysat by her friend, Jill (Keri Russell) and Skeeter while she finds a job elsewhere. But it turns out that the parts of the stories the kids make up are the only parts that come true. So Skeeter selfishly uses this advantage to benefit himself to win over the hotel manager and the possesion of the new hotel. He eventually falls in love with Jill, because no story is complete with out love, and it's all happily ever after.

The plot, if I didn't have such different expectations, was cute. Definitely a PG appropriate movie. I don't particularly think I'd recommend it, unless you are used to men with screaming ringtones who answer the phone in a caveman-like "Hello" or men who try to impress someone extremely out of their league. But it was a cute kids story about how to use ones imagination.

I'd give it an overall 6.9/10

Plans

Soreness and Books

A lot to say...
well started ballet yesterday, and i'm soo soree right now!! i don't dance for one month then hardcore stretching and stuff reallyy has an impact on a person! and on top of all that pain, my ear has been hurting very badly for two days now, and i found out that apparently I have Swimmer's Ear. I only swam like two times since the summer. Weird, huh? Anyways apparently there's some green growing in my ear, too. And there's water like sitting in a pool of stuff? and whenever I do something to disturb the pool im in pain! funnn... So my ear, and my legs, and my back are in total pain right now. great way to spend a day off..

anyways i also finished "Lock and Key" and it was a really good book! Ruby Cooper, abandoned by her mother and sent to live with her sister who she hasn't seen in ten years and her brother-in-law, is determined to get through her senior year at a rich school quietly and unnoticed so that when she turns eighteen she can get the wish she's always wanted: to be independent. Ruby scores a new house with her own room, a pond in the backyard and the dream any teenage girl would want. Even with her determind mindset to not make friends, she soon meets people who she can rely on. It's a classic Sarah Dessen story with romance, friendship, family and reaching out to others. I loved it, and i'd recommend it to anyone. It teaches you about life and has great lessons not to mention an amazing story line.(:

Still havent gotten together with any friends...not today when i'm so sore. maybe next week? sigh..my summer is more boring than school. what a sad fact.

Tuesday, July 20

NEW POLL!

It's already July 20th. That means only 11 more days until the last month of summer is here! It always seems like summer starts to go by really slowly, then right when things start to finally become fun mid-summer, it speeds up;UNFAIR! Maybe it's because we're getting ready for school soon and it just makes it go by faster. Well I'm not happy about it. Are you? The new poll is all about whether you can believe it's halfway through summer or not, and if you like it. So vote before it closes on Monday!!![:

busyyweekk..

This week is actually pretty filled with plans! I have ballet this week and next week for three days, and I'm spending my free days probably resting...Hopefully I can find some more plans for the empty days? Anyways, I'm almost done with "Lock and Key" by Sarah Dessen, which means a book review! The nail polish i ordered: Flit-A-Bit by OPI, is here, and hopefully I'll actually have a swatch ready!!! The Funky Dunkey swatch went a bit amiss, so I will have five swatches coming your way soon(:
The ants are loose again. More spray, hopefully they'll die for good now!
Any plans this weekend were sort of ruined...need to hang out with peoplee, I haven't in FOREVER!!
My life is actually really boring, even with the plans. Who knew summer would be quite so boring? I'd rather be with friends most of the time then bored as heck the rest of the time over going to school. Who wouldn't? Ughh...

tag sale and other cottage events

Up at the cottage having a tag sale, but we're only really selling kids stuff, like all the stuff I used when I was a little kid. We only sold a bike and two books and we made $5...hooray=\ I'm just sitting out front all alone waiting for people to drive by, look at the stuff, then drive away...sighhh Yesterday and today have been the same thing otherwise: reading, tanning and watching movies. Reading "Lock and Key" by Sarah Dessen, tanning underneath the hot midday sunn, and watching rented movies like Pixar's "UP" (go figuree). Kira's former teacher is visiting... Life is boring. Well, until next time when my schedule is more exciting than reading tanning and movies.....=\

Friday, July 16

Grrr...

Back to the cottage tonight. I don't know if I'm having any friends up. Unfortunately. Life is boringg..summer from here on out is going by faster now. Need to do some school workk..fun..ughh. need stuff to do..='(

OPI Nail Polish: Summer Flutter Collection

The Summer 2010 Collection that is being released from OPI is their Summer Flutter Collection. I love all of the colors. I'm only getting one, but if I could, I'd get them all.

I personally don't think this picture does the collection justice. They look like summer colors, though, right? They also look spring-ish as well. I think the Orange polish is what makes it look a little springtime-y.

I really hope this is how they apply. It's so nice to have an orange. The pinks look too similar, however. The colors are Flower To Flower, Flit-A-Bit, Wing It, and Catch Me In Your Net

Flower To Flower: It's bright just like shown in this picture. It's a bubblegum pink and has a shimmer in it.

Flit-A-Bit: This is the one I'm buying. I'm looking forward to it[: It's apparrently not as bright as I'd hoped, but I don't mind. It's going to be just a flat orange. I really hope OPI comes out with a softer orange, almost like a pastel. I'll have a swatch soon.

Wing It: It's darker and when applied looks almost reddish. It has a sparkly feel to it as well. It's not like the picture, there's a shimmer to it.

Catch Me In Your Net: This color is very unique and pretty. It's actually very shimmery as well. It's just a soft blue, but not too soft. The sparkly-ness gives it almost a green tone to it. It'd be my second choice to posess. I love blues, can you tell? =D

Well, I hope they apply well. Then again, I can't really tell a poorly applying polish from an excellently applying polish. Hmmm...

Nail Polish Swatches

Some nail polishes I ordered came in today!! I received two colors that I'd been waiting for and one that my mom wanted. I got "Funky Dunkey" and "Absolutely Alice" I will be making my first swatches as soon as I can[:

Color Splash Challenge: Entry #3

This one I edited many times to find just the right one to enter. I decided on this one only because the background is very full. I debated whether making the boats in the background Color Splashed rather than the daisy, but in the end I decided to stick with the main focus.
wasnt able to apply this one for the contest. :(

Color Splash Challenge: Entry #2

Some friends of mine. I really enjoy colorsplashing things that aren't the main focus of the picture because it makes you focus on other things rather than just the main object of the photo. The main objects in this photo are the people. But I color splashed the objects in front of them, drawing one's attention to the objects rather than the people.

Color Splash Challenge: Entry #1

My friend doing a cartwheel. The only color is the yellow of the street lines. First photo I ever color-splashed with Picnik.com

The Picnik Table: Color Splash Challenge!

The Picnik-Google Help Forum has posted a challenge on their Picnik Table! It's a Color Splash Challenge! Anytime from today until upcoming Monday picnikers can submit their color splash entries onto the site. The Picniker with the most votes is recognized in the forum and awarded the title of Picnik Rock Star! My entries are going to be entered in future posts[: Wish me luck!

friendship?

im going to feel like one of those friendless losers who reveals their feelings on the internet hoping someone will pity them or comment or can relate to how they feel. but i found a quote online by Irwin Federman that's completely true: "People love others not for who they are, but for how they make them feel." It makes me question some people whom I like being with, therefore they make me feel happy while other often upset me, but they're good people who have lots of friends. It makes me wonder, do I really love them? Or do I just love who they are, which, therefore isn't love as described here. A friend wanted to make plans today, but cancelled..then I found out she decided to hang out with another friend. But I didn't want to tell this person, therefore expressing anger towards them. I just couldn't. anyways, i'm hanging out with a friend today, who i havent in a longg timee. So, until I further question my friendship with people...

Strange Holidays

I just found out my birthday is National Gumdrop Day! I don't even like gumdrops! The irony...

Antsy?

I'm so antsy. Not in a good way. So recently i learned that ants have been eating something in the trash next to my bed. So, my mom cleaned it all out and I was more careful with what goes into the trash. But NOW I had a small supply of Hershey Hugs next to my bed that I forgot to throw away...yep. You guessed it, so now an amry of ants have been eating away at the chocolate. Fun...

Vaccumed...maybe they won't return. So what have I learned? No more eating in my bed for a LONG time...

yuckky. and theyre the little black ants that you can hardly notice on a rug. i keep feeling like there are ants all around me and like crawling on me...it's soo not a nice feeling.

Which Book??

Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen
-OR-
Eggs by Jerry Spinelli????

I told you how I gave up on The Anatomy of Wings so now I have to choose a new one.

Lock and Key: About a girl named Ruby who meets a boy named Nate...it's a love story, even though it's more complicated than the bit I've mentioned...

Eggs: David (I think...I don't have the book right in front of me...) and Primrose meet. They become good friends...also more complicated than just a story about friends.

Vote on which one I should read in the new poll!!

Mystic Aquarium Institute for Exploration

Visited the Mystic Aquarium today! It was a blast[: Of course there were underwater creatures etc. There were penguins, and it got me thinking about Happy Feet (the movie) and how devastated the penguin was that he wasn't with his family. I sure hope that the aquarium kept families together!! Anyways, I touched a live starfish, a shark (a small one!) and fed a stingray! They have like suction cup mouths! Who knows, I might want to try marine biology when I'm older...but the science factor? Not so sure aboutt...
Stingray[:

feedingg the penguins=)

Sea Lion or Seal?

Penguins lining up for feeding time! They're so smartt(:
There were exotic birds too, and you were able to feed them up close and they might've even landed on your stick in which the food was on. It took forever for one to trust me enough to walk onto mine, but I finally got this one green and yellow bird who I named Bingo to walk onto my stick and start eating from my food supply=D Needless to say it was a very happy time;) There was one man who kept finding birds for little kids and I'm like "It's a thrill, but it takes the fun out of getting one yourself." Anyways, I got Bingo and it's all goodd[:
Loved the aquarium!! Soo muchh funn!! In Mystic, Connecticut, right near the beach(:

Nail Polish: OPI

I really want to try the brand OPI for nail polish. I bought some off of ebay, but of course I have yet to actually win my bidding. Anyways, OPI has polished such as "Off With her Red" and "Mad As A Hatter" from the Alice and Wonderland collection. And from the Shrek Forever After Collection, colors such as "Ogre-the-Top Blue" and "Fiercely Fiona" are released. These both were released a long time ago, but as my discovery of these is new I thought it'd be cool to post it.

The Shrek Collection:

And this is the Alice and Wonderland Collection, which has now been sold out and any future purchases of these items would be exclusive. I hope to purchase "Absolutely Alice" from ebay and hopefully I'll come out with my first swatch!

So I plan to purchase "Absolutely Alice," the entire Shrek Forever After Collection, and a new color called "Flit a Bit" from OPI's Summer Flutter Collection (available now) and the color is a bright orange creme. I hope that the textures and qualities of OPI live up to their expectations! When (and if) the polished arrive, I'll do a full Swatch&Review of each one and it will be under the label: random interests. And comment and tell me what you think of them!

If I'm happy with the quality of OPI then I plan to purchase more of their brands such as "Hot&Spicy" from the Hong Kong Collection and some more colors from the upcoming Swiss Collection. I hope they have a Swiss Cheese color;)

Duct Tape

Watching the back-to-back Duct Tape episode of Mythbusters on the Discovery Channel. I learned a new fact: Duct tape actually used to be called "Duck Tape" (which is what many people originally thought it was due to the fact they sound so similar) due to the fact it is so water resistant, like a duck[:

here are some pictures of the episodes from Myth Busters

This is a regular car wrapped in duct tape in an attempt to bust the myth that states: enough duct tape can lift a car. This myth was declared CONFIRMED because using a crane, duct tape was enough to lift a car!

This is Jamie and Adam (two of the mythbusters) in a boat made almost entirely of duct tape! Of course without the right support the boat would collapse, but the sailboat floated and sailed just like any other sailboat and the price wasn't as expensive according to the mythbusters! This myth was declared CONFIRMED because it was able to float on water and built out of duct tape.

Nail Polish Tips

I realize that I've been getting lots of air bubbles after painting my nails, which makes them look cheap and poorly done, I've figured out what makes them look like this, and how to avoid this. A few of my nails look professionally done, but most look spotty and ugly. I tried the tips in bold because those were the tips that I wasn't doing the first time and that solved my problems, therefore making the air bubbles POP the second time I painted my nails. Here are some tips in case you have these problems too:
  • Paint on thinner layers (multiple thin layers rather than less thick layers)- before i painted very thick layers, and thinner layers fixed it! [:
  • Don't shake bottle before applying, roll in hands- I shook the bottle due to lack of paint.
  • If applying base coat, wait for it to dry COMPLETELY- I do not use a base coat
  • Allow coats to dry completely before painting next coat- I waited very little time because N.Y.C. dries quickly but doesn't harden quickly, which makes a difference
  • Use thick top coat- I used a thick top coat both trials

Also, I have one complaint about the N.Y.C. brand. After removing the polish with Nail Polish Remover (I used CVS brand "regular polish remover") it turned my nails off-color and you could tell there was a dark color polish on my nails previously. Not to mention that there was nail polish residue stuck in between the nail edge and the skin (not that I tried so hard to remove it). So it looks good and stays on nails, but removing the N.Y.C. polish shows it at its worst. I would recommend removing the polish ahead of time in case you need to remove it for an occasion of some sort, otherwise it will look messy and dirty.

polish and plans

painted my nails. lovee the brand N.Y.C. last time i painted my nails orange, they lasted like three weeks!! insanee righht!? haha well this kind is (uhh OBVIOUSLY) called "Skin Tight Denim Creme) its a dark blue shade and sometimes evn looks like black:not my intentionn haha they look awful, but the paint on the skin usually is clean after a take a showerr or wash my hands a few timess..soo yeah[: i highly recommend this brand. and it may sound odd but i also pick nail polish colors (sometimes) based on their names but this kind is really coolll and bluee and prettyy[:

plans tomorroww=D meeting kulsoom and mattie and mattie's friend (who im not sure is going to come or nott..) but im getting out of the housee, hooray!!(: not waking up at noon likee alwayss...yayy[:

Review of Amy Adams Movie: Leap Year

timee for my review on the unknown amy adams movie! ever heard of leap year? lovedd itt!!!

Anna (Amy Adams) awaits her boyfriend's proposal, but as their four year anniversary comes and goes without a ring, Anna decides to propose to her boyfriend herself. An Irish tradition that states that a woman can propose to her boyfriend on Feb.29th in a Leap Year convinces Anna to follow her boyfriend to Ireland only to need the help of Declan (Matthew Goode) to reach Dublin by the 29th.

there was romance, comedy, second thoughts, deep thoughts, and a lot of on the edge of your seat suspense but in a way tht you keep wanting a happy ending. soo cute, id recomend it to anyone who likes Remember Me, Dear John, The Notebook or even The Last Song. starring Amy Adams as Anna Brady and Matthew Goode as Declan O' Callaghan it is a sweet story about taking matters into your own hands and having an adventure and (of course) truee loveee.

the beginning seemed a bit long and dreary, but it explains everything pretty briefly and laconically, and the ending i wouldve changed just a bit. but the plot was soo cutee[: on a scale of 1-10 id rate this movie about an 8.5 because it might not appeal to all audiences, and if there was a PG-10 then i wouldve given it THAT rather than PG.

Tim Burton's Corpse Bride Review [MINOR SPOILERS!]

Tim Burton creates a small village along with characters Victor (Johnny Depp) and Victoria (Emily Watson). Although they are planned to be married according to an arranged marraige, they find the journey to true love might be right in front of you. When Victor practices his vows, he accidentally proposes to the corpse bride, Emily (Helena Bonham Carter). Travel with Victor in a search for true love and experiencing much selflessness.

Such a cute movie, good morales, appropriately rated PG, a little scary...even for me[: There's nothing I would've changed if I wanted to, i was very pleased with it. But personally, I didn't want to watch it a second time. On a scale from 1-10 i'd give it a 6.5 it was good but not my favorite movie...dead people? no.. haha:)

if anyone can answer, i will be eternally grateful: how many movies do johnny depp and helena bonham carter act/voice in togetherr?? i know charlie and the choco factory, the corpse bride, alice and wonderland, and thts all i cn think of now..soo thinkk on it for me!!?!
