The Sorcerer's Apprentice

The Sorcerer's Apprentice was AH-MAZING! It's my cup of tea, so of course I'm going to like it! But the plot was pretty original, and it was funny, creative and I loved it! Starring Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel, it is a thrilling tale that is an everlasting cycle of energy and love.

David (Baruchel) encounters a sorcerer by the name of Balthazar (Cage) one day who tells him that he is going to be important one day. Ten years later, Dave finds himself facing a title of Prime Merlinian with high expectations of defeating Merlin's most dangerous enemy. While Balthazar has some personal reasons for needing to release and destroy Morgana le Fay (Alice Krige), Dave and Balthazar go through a relationship of bonding, training and fighting Morganians together. Dave even, along the way, finds out that love is a whole different kind of magic, one he can share (love interest played by Teresa Palmer).

I feel like the plot was a little scattered, like after seeing it in the movies the first time, it'd take a bit of time to figure out the order in which everything happened. There were conflicts followed by forgiveness and love followed by training. It was very easy to understand and action opened up the movie right away. The ending was very predictable for a PG movie, but at least it was good and stereotypical instead of being creative but horrible and depressing. I feel if they changed some things and made it a PG13 movie, it would have certainl benefitted certain areas of the movie. But it was veryy VERY funny and completely worth seeing if you're into Harry Potter or adventure! I give it a 9/10. I loved it!!
